Apply to Volunteer with us

Our aim is to empower and champion teenagers surviving at the border, through safe, youth-focussed spaces and targeted activities for their personal, social, educational and emotional development.
Before applying please ensure you have read the information on our website about the context in which we work, and your role as a volunteer. Before proceeding, we ask that you take a moment to read the following disclaimers:

Diversity and Inclusion Disclaimer:

We are an actively anti-racist organisation and we do not condone saviour complexes. We encourage applications from people with lived experience of displacement, people of the global majority and people who speak relevant languages. If the cost of volunteering presents a significant barrier, we may be able to provide financial support. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis. For any questions regarding this, please email: youthkaleidoscope@gmail.com.

Mental health Disclaimer:

The context we work in can be difficult for many reasons. The effects of vicarious trauma, burnout and compassion fatigue are common. We also have long working days that can be tiring. In addition, the majority of us live and work together in a small team. Whilst we have welfare provisions available for supporting each other and encouraging self care, we ask that all applicants reflect on whether or not they are currently in a position to navigate the challenges of this context and commit to volunteering with us, or if they should revisit volunteering with us at another point in the future.
